PR~Link® Wins a National Gold Bulldog Award

CINCINNATI - June 11, 2008 - PR~Link, a Cincinnati-based public relations firm, is the winner of a national Gold Bulldog Award in the Best Education/Public Service Campaign category. The award was given for PR~Link's work with Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio Division on the 2007 VH1 Save The Music Foundation donation of musical instruments to Cincinnati Public Schools.

The 2008 Bulldog Awards Hall of Fame summarized PR~Link's winning campaign as follows: "While the VH1 Save the Music Foundation has provided almost a million dollars worth of musical instruments to the greater Cincinnati area since 1999, there had been no media coverage of the donations and concerts - until PR~Link signed on in 2007. Once on board, PR~Link identified a need for stronger messages to get through to the media. They went to work crafting press materials based on research from The Journal of Neurological Research and Gallup polls suggesting that, while musical training leads to higher standardized test scores and increased interest in academics among children, school budget cuts have put many school music programs in danger. They also added a compelling image to the mix: an oversized check for $300,000 - in the shape of a bass drum. This time around, more than 4 million media impressions resulted, including hits in The Cincinnati Enquirer as well as FOX, ABC and other broadcast affiliates."

"Our efforts to restore music education in Cincinnati in partnership with Time Warner Cable and Cincinnati Public Schools were brought into the spotlight, thanks to the efforts of PR~Link. The media push was a significant help in highlighting the importance of music education in every school for every student," said Rob Davidson, program manager for VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

The 2008 Bulldog Awards is the only PR awards program judged entirely by journalists. "PR professionals tell us that because this program is journalist judged, winning a Bulldog Award is one of the highest honors they can receive. One PR pro told me her gold award was the pinnacle of her career," notes Bulldog Reporter publisher Jim Sinkinson.

Chicken Soup Author & Speaker Sheds Light On "Invisible Disability"
Fibromyalgia Affects Nearly 10 Million Americans

CINCINNATI, OHIO - March 9, 2005 - Inspirational speaker and author Pamela Gilchrist-Corson travels to Michigan March 14th to talk about the "invisible disability" Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) that affects nearly 10 million Americans. She is a featured speaker at Adrian College's Disabilities Awareness Week 2005. She will discuss the disabling, misunderstood chronic-pain syndrome at a brown-bag lunch at 12:00 noon in the Ridge Student Center Arrington Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Gilchrist-Corson developed the condition after a car accident. Experts estimate that 5 percent of the world's population suffers from the severe the chronic pain, fatigue, weakness and other problems associated with FMS which can be extremely debilitating and interfere with even routine daily activities.

"We don't look 'sick' and most FMS sufferers have become experts at hiding our serious symptoms from all but our closest family and friends," Gilchrist-Corson said. "It's time to give greater visibility to this condition, and to let Fibromyalgia sufferers and their families know that there is hope and help available." To promote increased understanding, Gilchrist-Corson will share her inspirational story of how the disabling condition has dramatically changed her life. Most importantly, however, she will offer hope and coping strategies to sufferers, their friends, family and employers.

Fibromyalgia (pronounced Fy-bro-my-AL-ja) remains largely misunderstood among the medical community and the general public. Its cause is uncertain and there is no known cure. There has been little attention given to the "secret world" of its sufferers. To bring greater attention to FMS, National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is celebrated annually on May 12.
