Laura Carr is a communications professional with over 30 years of experience in solving communications problems and enhancing organizational effectiveness. She develops and implements strategic public and community relations programs, marketing plans, community outreach, communication effectiveness studies, public awareness campaigns and special events. She has been a public relations and marketing communications consultant since 1996. She has been associated with the PR~Link team for nearly 10 years.

An accomplished writer, Ms. Carr has developed strategic public and media relations plans; marketing plans; brochure copy; news and feature articles for publication in business magazines; newsletters, direct mail and speeches for senior level business executives as well as designed and delivered team and diversity management curricula.

She developed a marketing and strategic public relations plan for the introduction of Salem Crossing housing development in downtown Dayton, Ohio. She also developed and coordinated the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati's strategic communications plan while its headquarters building was under construction. During this project, she kept internal and external constituencies aware of the progress while the building was under construction, and planned grand opening events for employees, sponsors and the community.

She served as a co-chair for the Cincinnati PRSA National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Media Day and assisted in garnering national media coverage for the Freedom Center's Grand Opening in 2004. She is a consultant to Coca Cola Bottling Company, Cincinnati Police Department, The Wellness Community and Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Center. She has also worked with Citizen's Committee on Youth and BorrowSmart Public Education Foundation for homeowners. She is an advisor to the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati and the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Carr served as an adjunct instructor for the Buck Rogers Business Leadership Program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and team-taught a Communications course for Cincinnati Public School's Withrow High School Travel and Tourism Academy.

She gives back to her community as president of Leading Women Inc. and is a volunteer communications consultant for the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati. She served on the board and as secretary for the Arts Consortium of Cincinnati, the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce and was a founding member of the Cincinnati Arts Association Building Diverse Audiences Committee to create a strategic plan for audience diversity.

She earned a Master of Arts degree in Management with a concentration in Team Development from Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, her certification in Corporate Community Relations from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts and certification in grant writing from The Grantsmanship Center.

Ms. Carr is a graduate of Leadership Cincinnati, Class XXVI and the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati African American Leadership Development Program, Program Chair and Board member of The Public Relations Society of America, Black Career Women Executive Committee and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
